While the brunt of the rain missed the News 9 area, pop-up showers will continue this evening. A few stray thunderstorms may also form though will be sub severe. Overall, rain totals will be light but if yo are headed to any evening events, it may be wise to pack an umbrella or a light raincoat.

Tonight: Clearing skies and quiet.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a breeze.

Thursday Night: Mainly clear and quiet.

Friday: Sunny to partly cloudy and nice again. Chance of rain far SW of Wausau.

Saturday: Increasing clouds to mostly cloudy skies. Good chance of showers or a possible thunderstorm.

Tonight the scattered rain will dissipate as we clear out and dry out the next few days. Winds should also be light overnight but will strengthen on Thursday. Thursday expect to see plenty of sunshine and only a few passing clouds. Highs will hit the mid to upper 70s making for warm weather conditions. Fortunately, there will be a breeze from the NW of 10-18 miles an hour to make for another very comfortable day even under extended hours in the sunshine. Friday will be much the same although there will be a few more clouds. The breeze will lessen to around 5-10 miles per hour but remain comfortable nonetheless. There is a small chance of rain in far southwestern Wisconsin on Friday, but our next chance of widespread rain will hit this weekend.

Saturday is looking increasingly rainy with recent forecast updates. As of right now, there is a good chance of afternoon rain showers or developing thunderstorms. Additionally, while there is a chance of some sunshine early, most of the day will be cloudy. The lack of sun will keep highs a few degrees lower than Thursday and Friday. While Saturday looks gloomy, Sunday does not. Sunday will have a mixture of sunshine and clouds, warming back to the mid/upper 70s. A slim chance of rain exists but much of the area should be dry. Sunday evening looks to be dry as well and a very nice end to the weekend.

Heat and Humidity will be on the rise next week. We are expecting breezy southerly winds to push temperatures to the upper 70s and 80s from Monday – Wednesday. The increased moisture and breezy winds will also bring a chance of thunderstorms so stay tuned to News 9 for updates.

Have a wonderful rest of the week! Meteorologist Jackson Garlock
